Exotics pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and birds comprise about 4% of veterinary caseload. This lecture will compare and contrast managing pain in exotics pets compared to dogs and cats. Drugs, doses, and their indications for the three major exotics groups (Avian, Reptile/Amphibian, and Exotic Companion Mammal (Rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc.) will be discussed. Multimodal pain management techniques will be discussed. Non-pharmacological techniques will be discussed.
