Managing an unfamiliar species can be daunting, but in a euthanasia situation a confident approach is needed for safe handling and to minimise stress to patient, owner and clinician. The appropriate methods of euthanasia, including how to practically carry these out, will be discussed for avian, reptile and small mammal patients.
